Lemon Ginger Honey NOT-tea

After the holidays, we often feel clogged up. Whether that means that you feel bloated, have blocked sinuses, or are backed up (yes, you know what I mean), this Lemon Ginger Honey Detox UN-tea can help you set things straight.


This drink is an Ayurvedic remedy used to filter out congestion, promote healthy digestion, boost immunity, and increase circulation. I drink one of these each morning and have noticed a significant improvement in my sinus and digestive function since starting this daily remedy.

BE AWARE of Nutrient Degradation in Tea

Many people add these ingredients to tea or drink in warm water. BEWARE! Vitamin C and other nutrients found in this drink actually degrade in warmer temperatures. In short, the higher the temperature, the faster the degradation of nutrients such as Vitamin C. Enjoy this drink at room temperature to reap its full benefits.

Pro Tip: Make a big batch of this drink and store it cold, in the refrigerator, for up to three days. After three days, the Vitamin C and other nutrients begin to disintegrate.


 

LEMON GINGER HONEY AYURVEDIC DETOX DRINK


MAKES: 1 Serving (Approximately 1/2 cup)

INGREDIENTS:

Juice of 1 Organic Lemon

1 - 2 Tbsp Raw Lavender Honey, unfiltered (any other honey works, too)

2 tsp Organic Ginger Powder or 1 tsp Fresh Ginger, minced

OPTIONAL: 1 Cup of Room Temperature Water, to reduce ginger's intensity


METHOD:

Squeeze the lemon and grate the ginger, if using fresh ginger.

Mix all ingredients together, being sure to fully disperse ginger.

Enjoy!


Pro Tip: Add blueberries, or a similar berry, for an antioxidant blast and natural sweetener!
